Contact

Have a question about something you read on Sidelinehoops? We read every message that comes through, and this page explains how to reach us and what to expect when you do.

How to Reach Us

You can email us at [email protected]. Put a clear subject line on your message so we can route it to the right person quickly. A sentence or two of context about what you are asking helps us give you a useful reply instead of a generic one.

We write about personal finance topics like credit cards, loans, credit scores, budgeting, and debt. Messages that fit those subjects get the most thorough responses.

What to Send

Here are the kinds of messages we welcome:

  • Article feedback: Tell us if something was unclear, outdated, or flat-out wrong. We update our content when readers catch errors.
  • Topic suggestions: If you want us to explain a specific financial concept, send it over. Reader questions often turn into full articles.
  • Corrections: Found a typo or a number that looks off? Point us to the article and the spot, and we will check it.
  • General questions: Curious how credit utilization works or what a secured loan involves? Ask, and we will explain or point you to the right article.

Response Time

We typically reply within two to three business days. Busier weeks may stretch that a little, so give us a few extra days before following up. If your message needs research on our end, the reply might take longer, and that is usually a sign you asked a good question.

What We Cannot Help With

Sidelinehoops is an educational site, not a financial company. We are not customer service for any bank, lender, card issuer, or credit bureau. We cannot access your account, change a balance, dispute a charge, or look up your credit report.

If you need help with an account, contact that institution directly using the number on the back of your card or on your monthly statement. They can verify your identity and act on your account, which we cannot do.

We also avoid giving personalized financial advice through email. We can explain how a product or strategy works in general terms, but decisions about your own money are best made with a licensed professional who knows your full situation. With that boundary in mind, send us your questions and we will do our best to make the topic clearer.
