It hasn’t become an official yet, and might not for another month or so, but Brad Frederick will soon become an assistant coach on Roy Williams’ staff at North Carolina. Frederick, after all, has already been out on the road evaluating high school prospects.
“It’s pretty clear that Brad’s already been on the road recruiting,” Williams said on Monday during the first day of the ACC’s annual spring meetings. “If you’ve got eyes, you can see that.”
Williams has had a vacancy on his staff since C.B. McGrath, one of Williams’ longtime assistant coaches, left UNC to become the head coach at UNC-Wilmington. Frederick, who has served as UNC’s director of basketball operations since 2013, is a natural fit to slide into McGrath’s spot.
