Molinari joins Youngstown staff

Youngstown State head men’s basketball coach Jerrod Calhoun announced the hiring of assistant coach Paul Molinari on Tuesday.

Molinari has 27 years of NCAA coaching experience and spent the last five years with Calhoun at Fairmont State, where the duo helped lead the Falcons to the Division II national vhampionship game and a 124-38 overall record.

“Paul brings a lot to the table with more than 25 years of coaching,” Calhoun said in a statement released by YSU’s athletic department.

“He’s worked with [former Villanova head] coach [Rollie] Massimino and [current Wichita State head coach] Gregg Marshall. He was a huge key to our success at Fairmont State. He’s kind of a jack-of-all-trades. Not only is he great in recruiting, but in preparation, scouting and on-the-floor coaching.”
