At least two potential candidates for the vacant University of New Mexico men’s basketball head coaching job appear out of the running.
Albuquerque native James Borrego has taken himself out of the running, according to Adrian Wojnarowski, editor of TheVertical.com.
Wojnarowski posted on his Twitter account: “Sources: San Antonio assistant James Borrego, frontrunner for the New Mexico Lobos coaching job, has decided to remain with the Spurs.
“Borrego, a finalist for Grizzlies and Rockets head coaching jobs in 2016, wants to continue his NBA pursuit.”
