Oklahoma St. interviews

The days since Brad Underwood bolted Oklahoma State for Illinois have been mostly quiet, offering no hints of likely candidates to become the Cowboys’ next basketball coach.

Athletic director Mike Holder bounds into action Thursday, with former OSU standout Doug Gottlieb among five slotted for interviews in Stillwater, sources have confirmed to The Oklahoman.

Gottlieb stands as the most intriguing, a fan favorite who will jet in to make his case as an out-of-the-box hire, lacking coaching experience, yet offering familiarity and a professed love for the school and the program as an alum.

Also slated for interviews: former Cowboys assistant James Dickey and Underwood’s three hired assistants — Danny Henderson, Mike Boynton and Lamont Evans.
