Kermit Davis in contract talks

MTSU men’s basketball coach Kermit Davis and university officials are working on a new contract to keep him in Murfreesboro.

Davis, 57, told The Daily News Journal on Sunday that he is in talks with MTSU athletic director Chris Massaro and MTSU President Sidney McPhee to remain coach.

Massaro confirmed that the two parties have discussed a new contract and that he and McPhee expressed how much they’d like to keep Davis after Saturday night’s NCAA tournament loss to Butler.
