UMASS expected to pursue Shrewsberry

Boston Celtics assistant coach Micah Shrewsberry is one of several people expected to draw the interest of the University of Massachusetts athletic department as the school searches for a new men’s basketball head coach, per a report from SI.com’s Pete Thamel.

UMass fired coach Derek Kellogg after the team bowed out of the A10 tournament in the second round with a loss to St. Bonaventure. According to UMass athletic director Ryan Bamford, the school hopes to have a new coach in place before the end of the month “at the latest.”
