The search is on for a men’s basketball coach at Cleveland State University.
That job came open when Gary Waters resigned on March 7 after 11 years on the helm.
Waters, a thoroughly decent man and accomplished coach, walked away with a program record 194 victories against 171 losses.
Problem was, 44 of those losses came in the last two seasons as CSU’s program sank to the bottom of the Horizon League with a thud.
CSU President Ronald M. Berkman and newly installed director of athletics Mike Thomas are conducting what one would assume is a nationwide search for a new head coach.
Already, the rumor mill has Billy Donlon, Geno Ford and Jerrod Calhoun emerging as logical, qualified candidates for the job.
