Rutgers expanding search

George Washington coach Mike Lonergan is the latest candidate to say ‘no thanks’ to Rutgers, removing himself from consideration, according to a report from CNSMidAtlantic.com. Lonergan’s decision to stay at the Atlantic 10 school is reminiscent of the one made earlier in the week by Rhode Island coach and New Jersey native Dan Hurley, who sources confirmed pulled his name from consideration after lengthy conversations with Hobbs.

Still, although two of Hobbs’ initial targets are now off the market, one source familiar with Rutgers’ approach said the first-year AD is not limiting his ongoing search to a finite group of candidates.
