Cronin wanted some changes in his contract but is now leaving after 10 years at the helm, including 6 straight NCAA tournaments. The UNLV deal could be worth up to $3 million a year. He makes up to $2.2 million annually with incentives at Cincinnati.
Cronin has long wanted upgrades to Cincinnati’s facilities, including Fifth Third Arena, where the Bearcats play. The arena is scheduled to undergo an $87 million renovation that is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018, a year later than originally planned.
He also wants more money for recruiting and a chartered plane for recruiting trips.
As of Thursday afternoon, nothing is official.
