Burns lands at Boise St.

Mike Burns will round out the Boise State men’s basketball staff, according to a report from The Oregonian.

Burns joined the University of Portland staff just last month after spending last season as the interim head coach at Pacific. He also was the head coach at Eastern Washington for three seasons from 2004 to 2007. Burns has extensive experience in the West, including stops at Spokane Community College, Washington State, San Diego and Central Washington. He had accepted a position at Idaho in 2008, but two months later, joined the staff at USD. At Eastern Washington and San Diego, he worked with Ray Giacoletti and Bill Grier, who were assistants during Boise State coach Leon Rice’s time on the Gonzaga staff.
